Their joint performances, particularly during the 2000s, symbolized the passing of artistic torch from father to son — tradition meeting renewal. Deeply influenced by Persian Sufism, Shajarian saw music as a bridge between the earthly and the divine. He believed that music could heal wounds, bring peace, and purify the heart.
For him, true art was never about fame but about service to beauty and truth.
He was buried at Ferdowsi’s Mausoleum in Tous, fulfilling his wish to rest near the poet who embodied Persian language and identity. Mohammad-Reza Shajarian’s voice continues to live in the collective soul. His music is played at weddings, funerals, protests, and celebrations alike — always expressing something essential about being human.
