The Story of Ali Parvin
His international career was equally impressive. Parvin represented Iran from 1970 to 1980 and played in major international competitions, including the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games and the 1978 FIFA World Cup in Argentina. He was also part of Asian Cup-winning teams in 1972 and 1976. At the 1976 Asian Cup, he was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
After retiring as a player in 1988, Parvin continued his connection with football as a coach. He managed Persepolis on several occasions and also served as head coach of the national team. As a manager, he guided Persepolis to domestic success and helped the club win the 1991 Asian Cup Winners’ Cup. He also led to the gold medal in football at the 1990 Asian Games.
