Yet unlike his mother’s glamorous lifestyle, Kambiz grew up during a turbulent era. The Revolution of 1979 changed everything — his mother was silenced for decades, and their family dynamic was profoundly affected.

This unique childhood experience made him both a symbol of continuity with pre-revolutionary cultural golden age and a reminder of the sacrifices many families endured in exile. Life in the diaspora, particularly in Los Angeles, often called “Tehrangeles” because of its large community.
