Ghorbani’s life took a defining turn when he married Googoosh (Faegheh Atashin) in 1967. At the time, Googoosh was already a superstar — beloved for her voice, style, and charisma. Their union placed him at the center of cultural scene, and together they became a highly visible couple in Tehran.
The marriage produced one son, Kambiz Atashin, who would later become the subject of public curiosity due to his mother’s fame.
While the couple shared years of collaboration, their relationship eventually became strained, and they divorced after several years together. Despite the separation, Mahmoud Ghorbani remained linked to Googoosh’s legacy through their son.
