The 1979 Iranian Revolution changed everything. Nightclubs were shut down, pop music was banned, and many artists were silenced or forced into exile. Like many involved in the pre-revolution music scene, Mahmoud Ghorbani and continued his life abroad.
In exile, his name became less prominent compared to the singers and stars he once promoted. However, within music history, he is remembered as part of the cultural network that shaped the “Golden Age” of pop. As a promoter/producer, who helped shape pre-revolution entertainment industry.
