Saeed Oveisi, Dies at 82 in Sweden
Born in Tehran in 1943, Oveisi became interested in performing arts at a young age and began his career with the National Art Group, one of the important theater collectives active during a transformative period for performing arts. His early experience there exposed him to serious dramatic work and collaboration with leading artists of the time.
He later worked with the internationally renowned British theater director Peter Brook, who had assembled a troupe to perform during the historic Shiraz Arts Festival, an event that brought together experimental and traditional performances from around the world.
