Saeed Oveisi, Dies at 82 in Sweden
After appearing in the film Downpour directed by Bahram Beyzaie, Oveisi acted in other films as well, including Hour of Disaster directed by Raymond Hakimian and The Case directed by Mehdi Sabbaghzadeh. In the 1980s, he also appeared in historical television series such as Sarbedaran, Avicenna, and Amir Kabir.
In Sweden, Oveisi continued his artistic activities and collaborated with local television networks and directors including Reza Bagher, Reza Rahimi, Eva Bergman, Tobias Andersen, and Eva Täckén. He also received Sweden’s prestigious Guldbagge film award for Best Supporting Role for his performance in the film Crystal Wings. In recent years, Saeed Oveisi had been leading the Actors’ Group of the city of Gothenburg and, in addition to acting, was engaged in writing and directing plays.
