How to start a acting career
5. Get an agent After you’ve landed a few roles, you can leverage that experience to get an acting agent. You’ll want to start by researching potential agents, narrowing down a shortlist, and then submitting your acting résumé, headshots, and demo reel. Remember that you and any prospective agent will be interviewing each other—don’t just take the first agent who will accept you unless it’s a good fit.
Once you have an acting agent in your corner, you’ll have access to bigger projects and meatier roles. And while it’s true that not all actors need an agent, having one can open doors for you that would otherwise remain closed.
