Composer Babak Bayat’s son passes away

Babak Bayat is best known for his extraordinary contributions to cinema. His film scores are noted for their emotional depth, melodic richness, and ability to mirror the psychological states of characters. Bayat worked with some of most respected filmmakers, including Masoud Kimiai, Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, Ebrahim Hatamikia, and Pouran Derakhshandeh.

In addition to his cinematic achievements, Babak Bayat had a major role in shaping pop music—both before and after the 1979 Revolution. His songwriting and arrangements for top vocalists brought new depth and sophistication to the genre.
