Mastering the Art of Swiss Watchmaking

Founded in Le Brassus, Switzerland in 1875 by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, Audemars Piguet (often abbreviated as AP) has remained one of the few luxury watch brands still owned by its founding families. From the beginning, the company set out to push the boundaries of traditional horology by combining mechanical expertise, artisanal craftsmanship, and bold design.

Introduced in 1972, the Royal Oak revolutionized luxury watchmaking. Designed by the legendary Gérald Genta, it featured an octagonal bezel with exposed screws and an integrated bracelet — elements unheard of at the time. Initially controversial, the Royal Oak is now AP’s flagship model and a cornerstone of modern luxury watch design.
