Four Decades of Media Excellence

Born on September 19, 1965, in Tehran, Alireza Amirghassemi emigrated at the age of 13, initially to the United Kingdom, and shortly thereafter to the United States, settling in San Diego. He attended Mira Mesa Senior High School before advancing to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he studied film and television, aligning his passion with education . Even as a young teen in Tehran, Amirghassemi showed an early talent for storytelling; at only 13, he earned an award as the city’s best playwright .

At just 19, he produced the album “Neighbors” (Hamsayeh Haa) for singer Siavash Shams. The album rapidly became one of the year’s most successful, showcasing Amirghassemi’s early knack for impactful media production . In October 1989, Amirghassemi co-founded Tapesh TV (also known as the Persian Broadcasting Company (PBC)), alongside Massoud Jamali. This satellite network based in Los Angeles became a cornerstone of Persian-language television in the diaspora .
