A Life Between Royalty and Exile

She was educated in both and Western traditions, reflecting her parents’ efforts to modernize while preserving royal customs. From a young age, Farahnaz was expected to embody dignity, discipline, and cultural refinement—qualities associated with the royal household. The 1979 Islamic Revolution marked a turning point in Farahnaz’s life. At only sixteen, she was forced to leave her homeland permanently as the monarchy collapsed.

These years were marked by instability, health concerns within the family, and emotional strain. In 1980, her father died in Cairo, which deeply affected Farahnaz and her siblings. For Farahnaz, this period reinforced her preference for anonymity and personal space.  After settling in the United States, Farahnaz continued her education at prestigious institutions. She reportedly focused on psychology, social sciences, and related fields, reflecting an interest in understanding human behavior and emotional wellbeing.
