A First Journey Through Hollywood

It was like stepping into a time capsule — from the golden age of cinema to modern blockbusters. Standing in front of Marilyn Monroe’s famous white dress or Dorothy’s ruby slippers, I realized that Hollywood isn’t just about chasing dreams, it’s about preserving them too. Later, I joined a studio tour. Driving through backlots that had doubled as New York streets, suburban neighborhoods, or even distant planets was surreal.

It was incredible to see how magic is built from plywood facades, clever lighting, and imagination. It gave me a new respect for the unseen artists — set designers, writers, directors — who make stories come alive. By evening, I found myself at Griffith Observatory. From there, the Hollywood sign stood proudly in the hills, framed by the colors of the setting sun. Tourists and locals alike paused to take it in, cameras clicking, but for me, it was more than just a view.
