The beauty queen who became Trump’s deputy envoy to the Middle East

Morgan Ortagus’s Views Donald Trump appointed Ortagus as Deputy Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, a role that has made her a notable figure in international politics due to her outspoken statements and emphasis on policies against regime.

During her tenure at the U.S. Department of State, Ortagus consistently criticized the Regime and China, openly supporting Israel and taking a hard stance against the regime. Ortagus was a firm advocate of Trump administration’s “maximum pressure” policy against regime, which included withdrawing from the JCPOA (nuclear deal), imposing severe economic sanctions, and attempting to isolate regime diplomatically on the international stage. She has described regimes’s ballistic missile program as a threat to regional and global security, calling for serious international actions to limit this program.
