Shahram Shabpareh, member of the Black Cats group
The group helped introduce youth to a more globalized music scene and became a symbol of a modernizing nation. Their influence extended far beyond music, shaping fashion and youth culture. After the 1979 Islamic Revolution, music with Western influence was banned, and many artists, including the members of the Black Cats, were forced into exile.
Shahbal Shabpareh eventually re-established the band in Los Angeles during the 1990s, adapting it into a pop-dance group that reflected the tastes of a new generation in the diaspora.
