Shahram Shabpareh, member of the Black Cats group

The Black Cats are one of the most legendary and influential bands in the history of music. Formed in the mid-1960s, the group played a pioneering role in introducing Western pop and rock styles to Persian audiences and became a cultural phenomenon both before and after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The Black Cats were founded in Tehran by Shahbal Shabpareh, a visionary musician who was inspired by the Western rock and pop bands of the 1960s. His younger brother, Shahram Shabpareh, would soon join the group as a drummer and lead vocalist, injecting youthful energy and charisma that helped define the band’s early sound.
