Recently Declassified Secrets of USAF Stealth Aircraft
Even the cockpit is built with stealth in mind. The F-35 Lightning II may be largely invisible to radar, but its pilot’s helmet isn’t. Neither is its instrument panel. To keep the interior invisible, the cockpit is covered in a thin film of vapor-deposited gold or indium tin dioxide to scatter radar waves away from the receiver.
The F-47, slated for operational status between 2025 and 2029, is a cutting-edge fighter jet developed under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program. Manufactured by Boeing, it boasts a “Stealth++” rating, indicating unprecedented radar evasion capabilities. With a combat radius exceeding 1,000 nautical miles and a top speed surpassing Mach 2, the F-47 is designed to outpace and outmaneuver adversaries.
