Composer Babak Bayat’s son passes away

Bamdad Bayat, composer, arranger and pianist, was born in Tehran on August 4, 1985. Bamdad was the son of Babak Bayat and the twin brother of Barbod Bayat. Bamdad learned music from his father since childhood and considered him his main teacher. He entered the music conservatory at the age of 11 and studied there, but in the middle of high school he immigrated to Canada to continue his studies, where he received a diploma in music in jazz from the University of Toronto.

Bamdad Bayat’s main interest and professional focus is film music. In this field, he has composed scores for short films such as “Where Is the House?” (produced in 1997) and “Rebellion” (produced in 1999). Bamdad also collaborated with and assisted his father in composing and arranging the music for several major films, including “The Witch”, “Two Women”, “The Scream”, “Red”, “Stained Hands”, as well as the historical TV series “Vali-e Asr (The Custodian of Love)”.
