All you need to know about the controversial new streaming series

In recent days, many viewers of “Tasiyan” have shared on social media that watching the series reminded them of Iran’s flourishing days before the Islamic Revolution. The series “Tasiyan” depicts Iran in the final years of the 1970s—a time when various political and social factions expressed their views and aspirations. Through this, certain segments of society, influenced by the propaganda of political groups like the Mujahedin and leftists, joined the “revolutionary” movement, often without sufficient knowledge or a clear understanding of these currents.

Nevertheless, the characters in Tina Pakravan’s series are divided into two main groups: those like Shirin’s father, Jamshid, who have no ambition other than the growth and progress of Iran and strive for it, and others like Amir’s father, played by Mohammadreza Sharifinia, who represent the traditional and religious segment of society, likely targeted by the propaganda of religious extremists.
