The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is a tandem two-seat, twin-engine, long-range supersonic jet interceptor and fighter-bomber. It was acquired in 1968 from the United States and has since played a significant role in both air defense and ground-attack operations. Known for its rugged design, impressive speed (over Mach 2), and heavy weapons load, the F-4 Phantom II served in multiple air forces around the world.

Despite its age, the aircraft remains active with a present inventory of 64 units, many of which have undergone upgrades to extend their service life. The F-4 continues to serve as a capable multirole platform in secondary and support roles.
