A Life in Rhythm, Resistance, and Reinvention
In 1985–87, Azar co-founded the Persian pop band Sandy in Frankfurt, Germany—with members including drummer Behzad Pishro and guitarist Reza Zamini. Later, keyboardist Vahid Habibzadeh and bassist Homayoun Moshir-Akhbari joined, and Shahram Azar became lead singer, composer, arranger, and producer of the band’s music .
His arrangement work with legendary singer Ebi reshaped the style of live performances in concerts, especially in diaspora communities, elevating the visual and musical production of those shows .
